In August 2026, Not With Our Money and Community Change Action commissioned a poll by 2040 Strategy Group to assess Chicago residents’ attitudes across several key issues. The poll, conducted from August 4 to 16, 2026, found that pro-democracy and anti-corruption attitudes are widespread among Chicagoans.

These findings illustrate widespread appetite for action at the city level to address the collusive and corrupt business relationships that have come to characterize the Trump administration. The city is primed for action to examine the city’s approach to contracting and bring its spending more inline with Chicagoans’ values and priorities. Chicagoans are saying – not with our money!
